Leadership

Pastors & Staff

Josh Fryman

Senior Pastor

Hello, and thank you for visiting our website. My wife, Jen, and I were married on Long Island, NY in 2001. We are blessed with two daughters, and I thank the Lord for my family.

In 2005, the Lord saved me and changed my life. Several years later the Lord made it apparent that obeying him meant entering the ministry. While living in New York I completed my training, served on staff at our church, and was ordained. In 2010 we started a church and I pastored there until 2018. In the summer of 2018 my family moved here, to Larimore, and I served as the assistant pastor for just over a year, and then the church called me to be their pastor after my predecessor retired.

I believe strongly that faithful preaching of the Scriptures builds strong and healthy lives and churches, so I am committed to expositional preaching through the Bible.

My prayer is that you, or anyone else, senses the reverence for God and his Word we have here at Harvest Baptist Church.

aaron custer

associate Pastor

I was born in Grand Forks and have lived my entire life in this area.  I grew up in a pastor’s family, but came to the realization as a 10 year old boy that I needed to turn to Christ and believe on Him in order to be saved from the penalty of my sins and go to Heaven when I died.  I praise the Lord for the love and mercy He extended to me, and for the truth of eternal security - once saved, always saved! John 10:29.  My prayer is that my life will be used by God to glorify Him and accomplish His will.

I have over 12 years of experience as a church youth leader, and I’m privileged to have joined the staff of Harvest Baptist Church in January, 2026. I believe in the power of Scriptural preaching, and Harvest is a place where that is consistently present. 1 Cor 1:18

I am blessed by the Lord with a wonderful family. My wife, Malissa, and I have been married for over 20 years, and we have 4 children - Ellery, Tim, Rhett and Farrah.

Art Banner

Deacon

I thank God for His love for me and that while I was yet a sinner Christ died for me! Romans 5:8. As a young person during my fifth grade year of elementary school, while living with my grand parents, I turned to the Lord and put my trust in Him to save me. Following the military tradition of my father, I too joined the Air Force and served for nearly 23 years. My family and I were first introduced to Harvest Baptist Church (formerly New Testament Baptist Church), in 1999 while stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base. After attending there for three short years our family moved to Germany and then back to the states for our final two years in the military. We returned to the church in Larimore, where my wife and I have served since 2007. Both my wife and I are active in the choir, and I enjoy playing the guitar and singing special music from time to time.

Scott phelps

Deacon

Hi! My name is Scott Phelps. My wife Janna and I have been married for 37 years. We have two grown, married children and three grandchildren. I was born and raised in north central Pennsylvania and Janna in lower Michigan but, after being transferred here with the USAF, we have called North Dakota home for over 31 years. It truly is a privilege to serve here at Harvest Baptist Church. God has been so good! Since coming to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour in 1997, it has been my desire to serve Him, do His will and try to be a blessing to others while doing it. I look forward to meeting you
